Aqua aerobics has many benefits, including:
- Easy on the joints
- Great for weight loss
- Supports injury recovery
- Tones up muscles
- Improves cardio vascular endurance
- Great fun and social benefit
These are offered several times per week in the heated pool with a fully qualified instructor.
What to wear: swimmers, shorts, sport bra, board shorts, fitted rashie or t-shirt.
Bring a towel, water and sense of humour!
Learn To Swim
Our learn to swim program starts from babies all the way through to squad level. Our Learn to Swim program is $150 (9 weeks).
We encourage parents/caregivers to start the little ones with classes at 6 months old.
At 6 months we are working at water familiarisation in the fun, safe environment - an adult has to be in the water at all times.
The next stage is our toddlers - usually 1 years to 3 years old. These classes are fun, interactive and the child is starting to progress with their confidence and ability in the water.
Ask us about our family water play group for babies and pre-school.
After this stage we have GUPPIES, TURTLES, SEA HORSES AND DOLPHINS. Then MINI SQUAD and the SQUAD.
Each of these groups has a level we work towards. It is not age related, but ability rated.
Children then work in small groups with a qualified swim teacher.
All lessons are 30 minutes in duration.
Most lessons are after school. Private lessons are offered on request. Lessons are in school term time and generally go for 9 weeks.
ARE YOU ELIGIBLE FOR FREE LESSONS?
These are for 4 years and under and offered by the Government Swim Start vouchers.

Squad Program
Squad and Mini Squad $120 (9 weeks plus free whiteboard workout entry).
These are usually 2 afternoons per week and 1 early morning per week during school term.
Children can come to all sessions but they do need to be assessed at a suitable swimming level.
We divide the squad into mini level and squad level.
Both groups are working with qualified coaches to improve their swimming techniques, speed, endurance.
Great emphasis is placed on alignment, breathing, connection with the water and driving forward.
Various drills are performed in sessions with coaches working on stroke correction.
Mini squad can perform freestyle and back stroke but working on breast stroke and butterfly.
Squad can perform all strokes.
Is your child interested? We do a FREE assessment prior to term commencing.

Do I have to book for classes and what classes are suitable for me?No, you do not need to book for most classes. Simply show up at the time on the calendar! However, Hot Yoga and Cycle Combo classes do require bookings due to limited space. All our classes are graded by difficulty level, which means some may not be suitable for you – either too easy or too hard. Please ask one of our friendly instructors and they will let you know.
-
Can my children use the gym? There are strict guidelines for young people being in the gym. Children under 16 years are not permitted to use the gym facilities without specific recommendations from a GP or qualified sports coach. 16-year-olds can use the 24 hour access but there are very strict rules relating to this and a parent/guardian must attend the induction. Please note: If your child is 14-15 years old, we can arrange an appointment with our Exercise Physiologist who can determine if your child is physically suitable to use our facilities.
-
Why have I been asked to get GP clearance? We will request a GP clearance if we feel that your medical conditions require further investigation. We may also insist you have your carer with you if you need one-on-one supervision.
-
Do you have showers? The Kilcoy facilities have toilets and showers available for use. The Toogoolawah gym has toilets and a hand wash basin available for use. You can also access the showers at the pool, but you cannot swim unless you pay. Please note: The pool is closed from 14th April until mid September, so the showers are not available during this time.
-
Can my children come and wait for me whilst I train?Yes, they can. At Kilcoy, they can be either inside the netted area or seated near the canteen. At Toogoolawah (limited space) they can sit in the reception area or just outside the gym, but they are NOT allowed through the pool gate – this is locked during off season for their safety.
-
Do I have to be a gym/swim member to access the facilities? No. We offer a range of options for access, including casual day passes, weekly, monthly, or longer term. See membership prices on relevant location pages. Please note: For your safety, everyone must complete a membership form and medical questionnaire at their first visit.
-
Do you have timetables and opening hours? The class timetables for each gym can be found at the links below. A new timetable is launched every 3 months. Please note that classes will always run, regardless of numbers on the day.
-
What’s included in the membership?Full use of both gym facilities, all classes, and all our fitness/weight loss challenges. Toogoolawah Gym is a 24-hour access, however you will need to complete an induction to receive a FOB KEY entry. There is a cost for FOB and a refundable deposit. The swimming pool has separate prices, but we can work out a cheaper combined membership to include both. Please ask!
-
I am unsure if I want to commit to joining. Can I do a trial period?Yes, we do a free day-pass. This can also be extended if you wish to try several classes before joining us. Please note: You will need to book in for a gym session.
-
Can I do direct debit?Yes, we offer direct debit through our iCloud (secure) ClubFit. This is a cheaper option as we have no cash handling. There are no set up or cancellation fees, but there is a 7 day cancellation period. Please note: You will be charged a $10.00 administration fee if there are insufficient funds in your account at time of direct debit.
-
Why do I have to scan in? Are the scanners the same for the gym and pool?Scanning when you enter accounts for you being in the building, tallies towards our daily members count, and records your attendance. It also prompts us if we need to see you. Only visitors need to SIGN IN. There is a separate scanner for GYM and POOL. Please note: If you want to do a casual pool visit, you do not need a pool membership card. Longer term memberships to pool and gym will need two membership cards and two different scanners.
-
What happens if I want a refund?By Law, all gyms have a 48-hour cooling off period. After this time frame, refunds are written into our Terms and Conditions. Please ask for a copy. We are very understanding and flexible on this.
-
Can I stop my membership? Please see our Terms and Conditions for specific details. Further, please discuss with us regarding travel, holidays, sickness, etc. We are approachable, however due to the great value of the ‘special’ memberships, we can only stop or credit one month in total unless for medical reasons. We may require a medical certificate.
-
Where do I make a complaint? We have a Complaints Procedure workflow. Please ask for a copy. We will always do our best to resolve any issues you have. We prefer you to chat to us first please. If you feel we have not resolved your issue to our best ability, please consider contacting the Somerset Regional Council.
